Abutments are locations of roof where slope of the roof meets a vertical area, such as a wall. For these particular areas where the roof tiles end, a gap usually appears between the last tile and the wall. That usually cause water leakages.
Traditional method (zinc / metal flashing and cement mortar) used does not solve the problem with its ugly finishing , visible gaps from cracks of mortar and lifted zinc / metal sheets causing possible leaks.
